Miharu does know he has feelings for her. And we can see her catch on to the awkwardness of some things that have gone on between them. She thought back about the time she threw herself on him while he was comforting her over Kazuo, she often blushes or turns away when she notices him being intense, there are many little clues even if she doesn't want to admit it to herself. With a situation like this, it's often good to distance yourself from someone for a bit, just until the heat of the feelings calm down and you really can move toward being "just friends." Speaking as someone who was in the situation Makoto is in, it's not that simple. When you love someone it hurts to see them fawn over someone else, but it's a lot worse if they just plain don't want to be around. He's obviously wanting to comfort her and help her and if she simply made an effort to distance herself it would basically be like saying, "Even though you've been nothing but nice I don't want you around at all." Makoto has the right to decide what to do with this, if it really hurts him that much he could tell her he needs time away from her and why and I'm sure she'd be understanding. But if she decides that for him it would just be even more hurtful and it's really not her place. She's doing the right thing by including him in her life and letting him decide what he can deal with emotionally.

Well, one thing is that Miharu can't "rescue" Kazuo. He has to do that for himself. Otherwise he'll still be weak. Makoto is interesting. This unrequited love stuff is something he has to deal with and I want to see more! He does have a tendency to rush into things, as evidenced by how he decided to "pounce" on Miharu at her school, but then he took it slow with Karen and now is concentrating on work. Then the attraction flares up again and...

Eheh. My bets are on Kiku doesn't even recognize her with the white (blonde) hair. She's never met Makoto, either, to the best of my knowledge.

Then I remembered that Tomi didn't recognise Miharu at first with white hair either.

I thought it was an act. But yeah, people's comments about the hair have highlighted that to me. 'Delinquent' line especially points that out.

She and Fuuko are mine. They're both terribly complex. Reika used to be my favorite character, but I've found less and less to connect with her. Kiku and Fuuko, on the other hand... are just awesome. Don't worry Kiku, I'd be totally POed about having to pretend I was totally in love with someone who I used to be totally in love with. What an insult.
