FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Strawberry Comics?
We are a collective of all-female comic creators with the common interest of writing character driven stories of drama and romance. The comic industry is still a male-dominated field, even in the independent and small press areas. Our main goal is to help get the word out on female comic creators with exceptional skills who might otherwise be overlooked.

Didn't your group used to be called something else?
Yes, our group was originally called Moonation Comics, but after considering many factors, we decided to change our name to something more suitable. The name change occured Feb. 2004.

Can I become a member of Strawberry Comics?
We are not currently accepting new members into our collective. We will post an announcement when we do take on new members.

Most of your comics are in "manga style" so why do you call them "comics"?
In America, manga is defined as "comics from Japan." Since all of the Strawberry Comics members are from America we create "comics." Besides, calling them manga, OEL, amerimanga, or anything else of the sort is just asking for an argument.

How do I purchase the printed books you publish?
Each artist sells their books through their own personal site. We used to sell them directly through Strawberry Comics, but it is much easier for each of us this way.

Can I review one (or more) of your comics or interview one of your creators?
Absolutely. The more exposure for our comics and group, the better! If you would like to review any of our books, or interview any of us, please feel free. We only ask that you write to us and let us know where we can read it.

Is it okay to link to Strawberry Comics?
This site is LINK FREE which means you are more than welcome and encouraged to link to us.

Do you do link exchanges?
We don't link to individual webcomic sites. However, if you have a site that promotes women's roles in the comic world (like sequential tart, friends of lulu, or a group similar to ours), email us.
